However, the core work of designing resilient systems, managing cloud costs, and integrating complex pipelines remains highly human-centric. AI assistants now boost productivity in scripting and configuration, but they are not yet reliable for production-critical changes without human oversight. The demand for DevOps engineers who can architect AI-augmented pipelines and manage AI inference infrastructure is growing. Overall, AI is a force multiplier, not a replacement, for this role in the current Canadian market.
