AI is increasingly used to automate clinical documentation and transcription, freeing nurses from paperwork, but it also demands new EHR and data-literacy skills. Predictive analytics tools help flag patient deterioration early, shifting the nurse's role toward interpreting AI-generated alerts and exceptions. In triage and staffing, AI scheduling systems optimize shift assignments, which can reduce burnout but also raise concerns about algorithmic fairness. However, direct patient care, hands-on procedures, and complex clinical judgment remain largely irreplaceable, keeping demand for human nurses very high.
