AI is shifting PM work from execution-heavy tasks toward strategic curation. Many junior PM tasks—like writing user stories, generating meeting notes, synthesizing customer feedback, and creating basic requirements documents—are now being partially automated with LLM-based tools. As a result, the bar for pure execution work is rising; PMs who can deeply understand customer problems, design rigorous experiments, and interpret ambiguous data are more valuable than ever. AI also enables PMs to simulate and validate product decisions faster, shrinking the need for broad PM teams in some organizations while increasing the need for senior, highly analytical PMs who can direct AI tools effectively.
