AI is reshaping UX research by automating parts of data analysis (e.g., thematic coding, sentiment analysis) and enabling rapid, large-scale user testing via simulated users. However, the core need for human-centered problem definition, qualitative depth, and ethical oversight remains strong. Researchers who upskill in studying AI-driven products (e.g., evaluating LLM outputs, testing conversational UIs) are seeing higher demand and differentiation. The field is shifting from purely generative research toward more evaluative and AI-mediated research, requiring new methods and tooling fluency.
